MERMOSA WINES DIVE INTO THE WILLAMETTE VALLEY WITH CHATEAU BIANCA JOINT VENTURE ANNOUNCEMENT
MARCH 6, 2020 – ST. PETERSBURG, FL / DALLAS, OR - Emerging wine and lifestyle brand Mermosa is pleased to announce that it signed a letter of intent (“LOI”) with Chateau Bianca Winery, a large Willamette Valley, Oregon winery operation with 4th generation winemaking, state-of-the-art facilities, warehousing and vineyards atop the picturesque Butler Hill. Mermosa is a mermaid-inspired wine brand best known for marrying exceptional Pacific Northwest wine with a splash of real fruit juice in a pre-blended proprietary formula.
Desiree Noisette, Mermosa President shares: “My team and I are thrilled to be partnering with Andreas Wetzel and the Chateau Bianca family. Our expansion of manufacturing capabilities and distribution footprint tees us up for world-wide market penetration and we now have the winemaking, facilities and supply chain expertise in-house to make it happen.”
The transaction paves the way for Mermosa to capitalize on economies of scale and logistics efficiencies making its product price competitive at a national and international level. “I see the Mermosa product line hitting coast-to-coast US distribution in the next three years, with the international markets already in the works,” forecasts Chateau Bianca winemaker and CEO Andreas Wetzel. “We should be at $5 to $10 Million in domestic annual revenue in the next couple of years, plus international market revenues.”
The parties are already planning expansion of facilities to meet anticipated demand. As currently situated, the Chateau Bianca facility capacity is approximately 650,000 cases of wine annually, with the ability to easily increase capacity with the addition of tanks.
“I’m excited to dive into the marketing as we launch our newest product.” Mermosa, the namesake wine style, is rolling out in a 375ml can the spring of 2020 – a refreshing blend of exquisite Pacific Northwest white wine with a splash of real orange and pineapple fruit juice. “At its core,” Noisette explains, “Mermosa is an experience – a liberating tropical escape.” Mermosa is budgeting for a hefty marketing push to bring its mermaid-inspired brand into new territories through tastings, interactive presentations at festivals and concerts and of course, Mermosa Mermaids.
Although Mermosa’s strategic focus on wine production means retirement of its current retail operations in St. Petersburg, Florida, the company is excited to be able to support its home base in a more meaningful way. “Charitable giving and community participation is a cornerstone of the Mermosa brand. Harnessing our manufacturing operations in Oregon allows us to hit a revenue target and cost savings that folks will feel back home in St. Pete.” The Kind Mouse, Academy Prep, American Stage and St. Pete Earth Day are a few non-profits Mermosa currently supports – and intends to keep supporting as the company grows.
The LOI provides that the parties will work to sign a definitive agreement within 60 days. Closing is conditional upon completion of due diligence, with financing already committed for closing the transaction.
